Hide a question in a survey
You can hide a question in a survey instead of removing a question from a survey.
Advantage of hiding rather than removing a question
Survey Analysis is unaffected. When you remove a question from a survey, the previous responses retain their answers to the removed question, but the removed question is no longer displayed on either the Analyse Survey Results or Survey Analytics pages. (However you can still analyse a question on a Progress Board even if that question has been removed from a survey.)
How to hide a question
There are several ways to hide a question in a survey.
Use SKIP LOGIC: JUMP FROM HERE to jump past that question (that is what this article explains)
Use HIDE UNLESS skip logic to hide a question (this is a more advanced alternative to Jump To)
Use personalised wording to hide the question (applies when you have several Versions of a survey)
How to use JUMP TO Skip Logic to hide a survey question
Before continuing we recommend reading this article that introduces JUMP TO skip logic if this is the first time you are setting it up: Skip Logic: Jump To a question in a Survey
Requirements
There must be a Multiple Choice Question in your survey that is positioned before the question you want to hide.
Steps
Go to the survey. You can get there by
Clicking My Apps in the top menu
Select Surveys
Click the name of the survey you want to hide a question within
You arrive on the survey’s PROFILE page
Click on the actions button on the right hand side of the survey question, that you want to hide.
Click on the “Skip Logic: Jump From Here”
The Skip logic popup loads
Select the Answer Choice for that question and then set the jump destination as the question after the question you want to hide
Press Save to close the popup
That’s it. Respondents will be skipped past this question once they complete the prior question.
