Every event belongs to a project.
This is why in order to create events, you need to turn on events within a particular project Turn on Events within a project
Every event has one Event Category which determines
the fields used on the Event Creation page Design the Event Creation Form

the fields about guests that are displayed in the Guest Background Information table Design the Guest Background Information custom table

A project can have many Event Categories added to it. Add an Event Category to a project
When you add several Event Categories, it means that when users are creating an event within that project, they can choose which Event Category to use

Within the Events app, your Contacts are called Guests

The Contact Filters have a criteria called Events Invited To
This lets you filter contacts according to the events they have been invited to
This could be used when
Sending broadcasts via SMS and Email, or when tagging contacts on Mailchimp Send a bulk SMS or Email to a group of contacts immediately or scheduled for later (i.e. send a Broadcast)
