Create an Outcome

You can create your own outcomes.

Why create outcomes

  • With outcomes you go beyond simply counting the number of activities you’ve done and the number of attendees you’ve had.

  • Outcomes let you measure the difference your work makes, so that you can track, analyse and report the 5 stages of your impact rather than being limited to only the first two.

How to create outcomes

  1. Click Create in the top menu

  2. Click Show More Options at the bottom of the list

  3. This causes the list to expand to the side

  4. Select Outcomes/Trackers from the expanded list

  5. This takes you to the Create an Outcome or Tracker page

  6. Select the Outcome Tracker tab

  7. Complete the form:

    1. Stage in the strategy:

      1. Change in capacity (Short-term) - select this for outcomes related to changes in how people Think

      2. Change in behaviour (Medium-term) - select this for outcomes related to changes in people’s Behaviour, e.g. habits or actions they do

      3. Change in quality (Long-term) - select this for outcomes related to changes in what people have or experience

    2. Add indicative progress trackers

      1. use the search box to look for existing indicators, i.e. Achievement Trackers, Multiple Choice Trackers and Numerical Trackers

      2. alternatively, press the Create new tracker button positioned below the search box to create one or more new Achievement Trackers, Multiple Choice Trackers and/or Numerical Trackers

    3. Open the Advanced section

    4. Add cover image: skip this unless you want to display an image for the Outcome when it appears on the Explore Metrics page

    5. Assign to projects: this lets you search for projects you have Editorial Control over. You can add the Outcome (and its associated Progress Trackers) directly to one or more projects using this field

    6. Hide from other organisations: Tick this box unless you would like your Outcomes to be available for other organisations to use on their projects as well

    7. Super Outcome: leave this section blank

    8. Owner: set the owner as the organisation you work for rather than “Me”

    9. Editorial Control: this determines who has permission to edit the outcomes.

  8. Press Save Changes

  9. You will be directed back to your Library however you will arrive on your Personal Library which shows your Outcomes and Progress Trackers that you own personally

  10. To access your Organisation Library, select the Organisation Library radio button and select the name of your organisation

  11. You arrive in the Organisation Library which is where you can see the Outcomes and Progress Trackers that are owned by your organisation
