Send a survey to a contact in Anonymised Mode via SMS

The Send A Survey to Contact feature allows you to

  • generate a unique personalised link for each of your contacts

  • that is sent to each contact individually via SMS using Conversations within the Messaging App

  • which you can set to Anonymised Mode so that you and your colleagues cannot see the name of the contact that the survey response belongs to.

Steps

  1. Go to the Survey Campaign page

  2. Select Send personalised survey links via email

  3. You arrive on the Send Survey To Contacts page

  4. Select a Wave: If Waves have been enabled on your Survey Campaign, you can optionally choose which Wave to associate this sending of the survey with. If Waves have not been enabled for this Survey Campaign, you will not see the Select a Waves option.

  5. Set Expiry: by default the survey links generated from this page will expire once the contact has responded to the survey. However you can change the setting to “Remain active” if you want the contact to be able to post several responses to the survey over time without you needing to send them a new link

  6. Tick the Responses are anonymised tick box to anonymise the responses from contacts you send survey links to

  7. Send via SMS: Select this option

  8. Add the survey recipients: this box lists the contacts within your project:

    1. Use the Select existing contacts box (Purple arrow) to select each contact whom you want to invite to complete an anonymised survey.

      1. By default, the list of contacts is filtered to only the contacts who are currently Enrolled on the project. To select contacts who are on the Waiting List, Alumni List or Declined List of your project, press the Filter Contacts button to filter the contacts listed accordingly.

        1. The Filter Contacts Overlay appears

        2. Open the filters you want to use and set your criteria

        3. Press Apply

        4. The list of contacts will update accordingly

        5. Click outside the Filter Contacts Overlay to close it

    2. The contacts whom you have selected will appear in the Survey distribution list (Blue arrow)

  9. Add survey recipients: Leave this box blank

  10. Add a Message: this message will appear in the SMS that contains each respondent’s unique link

    1. Personalisation Tags enable you to personalise your messages at scale. They’ll automatically populate your message with the name of the contact and/or any other information that’s stored on their Bio.

      Different coloured highlights indicate different tags

    2. The green highlight on the text is for a personalization tag.

    3. The yellow highlight on the text is for a broken/edited personalization tag.

    4. The white background on the text is for normal text.

  11. Press Send Surveys

  12. After pressing Send, you arrive on the Unique Survey Links page for this Survey Campaign

    1. On this page you can copy the unique survey link for each contact to send to them manually

  13. Select the Messaging button in the top menu

  14. Select Contacts

  15. You arrive on the SMS Conversations page

  16. One by one:

    1. Select the contact whom you need to send the survey link to (e.g. Benjamin)

       

    2. Paste their survey link into the conversation text window

    3. Press send

    4. Repeat this process for each contact whom you need to send the survey link to
