Add Threshold to hide answer choices with less than a certain number of responses when viewing results

You can now add a threshold to only view responses that are above a certain limit, the limit being set by you. This enables you to further ensure anonymity when viewing results because any answers below your threshold will not be displayed.

How it works?

Let us take a look to understand how the threshold works. When you set a number as a threshold, all the responses are compared to the threshold and are only shown if they cross that number. If the response is below the threshold, all of those responses are accumulated under Below the Threshold option instead of the actual selected response. This ensures anonymity of the responses that are present by only showing the results if there are enough number of responses.

Therefore, if you have set 5 as the threshold, in the results all the options that have the number of responses below 5 will have no responses (Zero response) but the Below the Threshold option will have the combined number of responses from all the options that are below the threshold.

Continuing the example with 5 as the saved Threshold, if there is a survey question to select age-range with options and the number of responses corresponding to them as follows:

Age-Range

Number of Responses

Age-Range

Number of Responses

15-18

2

19-24

8

25-30

3

Above 30

6

The result of this will be shown as:

Age-Range

Number of Responses in the Result Shown

Age-Range

Number of Responses in the Result Shown

15-18

0

19-24

8

25-30

0

Above 30

6

Below the threshold

5

As you can see, the number of responses for range 15-18 and 25-30 were not exceeding the threshold, therefore those options will have 0 (Zero) responses in the result. But all of those responses are combined and shown under the Below the Threshold option (2 responses for 15-18 and 3 responses for 25-30). But the ones which are crossing the threshold (option 19-24 and Above 30) are not affected by this. Therefore all the data is displayed but anonymity is also present.

Which results are affected by the threshold?

  • Demographics page

  • Compare Demographics page

  • Progress Boards

  • Survey Analytics

Get Started:

Part 1: You will need to create a threshold. The steps to do that are outlined in the following article.

Create a Threshold

Part 2: Once a threshold is created, you can view the results on various places. Such as:

Option 1: Contacts page(category splits tab)

Read/See the results according to the Threshold(contacts page)

Option 2: Survey Analytics page

See Survey results according to the Set threshold

Option 3: Progress Boards

See Progress Board Results with Hide the Threshold
