Major Upgrades

Major Upgrades are those that do one of the following:

  • integrate Makerble with an external platform

  • result in a new App being added to Makerble

Process for Major Upgrades

  1. Complete an Expression of Interest

  2. Discuss your requirements

  3. Feasibility Prototype (UK pricing £500)

  4. Min & Max quote

  5. Go/No-Go

  6. Progress updates

  7. Configuration and Implementation

  8. Get notified when your upgrade is ready

1. Complete an expression of interest

  • Be as descriptive as you can about your feature idea and specifically let us know the problem you want the upgrade to solve and where possible, provide examples of situations in which you would use it

2. Discuss your requirements

  • We arrange a meeting (usually over Zoom) with you to confirm your requirements

  • We might use this time to put together a wireframe that shows how the feature could work

  • If the process of clarifying your requirements is going to be lengthy, we’ll let you know that we’ll need to charge for this Design time. However in most instances, this process is quick.

3. Give the go-ahead on a Feasibility Prototype

  • UK pricing: £500

  • Once we get your go-ahead, we spend a day doing a deep dive into how to build your required solution

4. Min & Max quote

  • We put together a Minimum & Maximum quote for this work

  • There is always a degree of uncertainty when estimating how long a Major Upgrade will take. This is because we are building something new and there’s always the chance that we’ll encounter unexpected challenges while building your solution. This is why we provide a Minimum & Maximum quote.

5. Go/No-Go

  • Once you receive the Min & Max quote, you give us the go-ahead to build out the full solution

  • Or you press pause for now.

  • Once you approve the Work Package and pay the kickoff invoice, we’ll schedule the work into a sprint and provide you with progress updates

6. Receive regular progress updates

  • You’ll receive updates as your upgrade moves through the production process from being an idea, to a wireframe and then to a full-functioning feature on your platform.

  • If setup is required of your upgrade, we’ll contact you to arrange setup and/or training.

7. Configuration and Implementation

  • We’ll work with you set up your new feature and will provide training

8. Get notified when your upgrade is ready

  • Click the Upgrade button

  • New upgrades are listed in bold and have a dot next to them

  • Click each one to find out more about it - this might open a page explaining the upgrade in more detail

  • Upgrades you’ve already clicked will appear in grey text
