How to setup a Survey Portal

The survey you want to use in your Survey Portal needs to already exist

You must be an Organisation Admin (Charity Editor) to create a Survey Portal

There are two ways that surveys can be distributed within a Survey Portal:

  • Anonymous responses using a generic survey link

  • Identifiable responses using a personalised survey link that is emailed to each respondent individually

Setup steps:

  1. Create a new Project Form to use for your Survey Portal

    1. In the Advanced section

      1. Untick the Allow Projects to add other surveys tickbox

set up survey portal Project Category.gif

      2. Tick the Allow signed-out people to create projects tickbox

      3. Tick the Redirect project reporters to Survey Analytics after sign-in tickbox

      4. If you want survey responses to be anonymous, tick the Activate anonymous responses tickbox

      5. If you want survey responses to be identifiable, tick the Activate personalised links tickbox

      6. In the Add Default Surveys to all projects within this category box, type the name of the one survey that you want your Survey Portal to use.

      7. Press Save

  2. You will be redirected to the Manage Project Forms page and you will see your Project Form in the table

  3. Click the cog icon in the Tools column of the table and select Edit

  4. Scroll down to the Advanced section of the page. You will see that there is now a web address displayed. Select and Copy this web address. It is the web address that your clients can use to create their own Survey Campaign using your Survey Portal.

  5. In the Message for reporter text box, enter any text that you want to appear in the email that your clients receive when they sign up to create their own Survey Campaign using your Survey Portal.

  6. If you want your clients to fill in specific information when they are signing up for their own Survey Portal, you can add those fields at the top of the page by selecting fields from the Available Fields section and adding them to the Current Fields section

  7. Press Save.

Test and launch

  • Your Survey Portal is now setup.

  • To test it you must use a browser in which you are not already signed into Makerble

  • Use the Signup Link that you copied and it will guide you through the signup process. When you signup you will receive emails instructing you how to use the system.
