You can reuse the same set of Answer Choices in several Multiple Choice Trackers (Multiple Choice Questions or scale-based questions).

How to create Multiple Choice Questions with Shared Answer Choices

How to do it while creating or editing a Survey

  1. Press Create in the top menu → choose Show more options → choose Survey

    1. (If you are editing an existing survey, click Surveys in your left Side Menu → click Master Surveys → select the name of the survey you wish to edit → click Actions → click Edit)

  2. Select Create a new question or section and select Scale (Choices)

  3. Enter the question

  4. Then select Start with an existing set of Answer Choices

  5. Once you do that, a Choose a set of Answer Choices dropdown list will appear

  6. Press Select one to choose the set of answer choices you would like to reuse

  7. You’ll see the Answer Choices appear in grey boxes. This is to signify that you can’t edit them (given that you’re reusing an existing set)

  8. Press Save. This will add the question to your survey.

 

How to do it from within your Metrics App

  1. Press Create in the top menu

  2. Select More Options

  3. In the extended menu, choose Outcome/Tracker

  4. You arrive on the Create Metric page

  5. Select the Multiple Choice tab

  6. Select the Choose an existing set of choices option (each “set of choices” is named after the first Question that used that set of answer choices)

  7. Choose the List you want to apply to this question

  8. Scroll down to Advanced to open the advanced settings

  9. Tick the ‘Hide from other Organisations’ checkbox

  10. Set ‘Owner’ to the client’s organization

  11. Press Save

  12. Repeat this process when creating your other Multiple Choice Questions

Considerations

  • When using Shared Answer Choices you can choose to

    • add Explanations to each Answer Choice

    • create new Explanations for each Answer Choice

    • reuse existing Explanations for each Answer Choice
