There are three requirements for Spider Plot charts

  1. There must be a minimum of two Multiple Choice subgoals that use Shared Lists

  2. The Multiple Choice sub goals that use Shared Lists must belong to the same Outcome Goal

  3. The Multiple Choice sub goals that use Shared Lists must be part of the same Survey


What are Spider Plot outcome charts?

Spider Plot outcome charts enable you to see story_indicator_beneficiary data for all the indicators within one outcome. Each outcome will appear as its own Spider Plot chart; this is why it is called a Spider Plot outcome chart.

In the image below, the Spider Plot displays a coloured line for each story about each beneficiary that has story_indicator_beneficiary data from the Scale Indicators within those Outcomes

What you need to get started

Things you will need to have already created in order to use the Spider Plot outcome chart

  • A charity - How to create a charity

  • A project - How to create a project

  • An outcome - How to create an outcome

  • At least 3 Multiple Choice sub goals that use the same Ratio Set (also known as Set of Answer Choices) - How to create Multiple Choice sub goals that use the same Set of Answer Choices)

  • A story category (also known as a survey) that contains at least 3 Multiple Choice sub goals that use the same Ratio Set - How to create a survey

  • A survey campaign which uses that Story Category - How to create a Survey Campaign

  • At least one story in which a beneficiary is tagged to all the Multiple Choice sub goals in your survey - How to create stories

Instructions

To display Spider Plot outcome charts on the Survey Analytics page, you have to enable them at the survey level. This means you need to turn them on from the Create/Edit Story Category page.

  • Go to the Edit Survey page

  • Scroll down to the Advanced section

  • Tick the Display Spider Plot charts tick box

  • Press Save

  • Go to the Survey Analytics page - How to use the Survey Analytics page

  • The Spider Plot outcome chart will be displayed at the top of the page. If you also enabled Outcome Stacked Bar Charts on the Create/Edit Story Category page, you will have to use the radio button to switch to view the Spider Plot outcome chart rather than the Stacked Bar Chart outcome chart.
