What is this rule about
You will now be able to hide the questions based on your answer to some previous question in a survey.
Why this is useful
This is useful when you have questions to be answered only when specific answers are provided or some conditions are met to some previous questions. So, now completing the survey will become very easy for your beneficiaries.
For example, if there are 100 questions in a survey and question number 10 is what is your gender male or female. In the survey, if the questions 21, 42 and 63 only apply to people who are Male and questions 14, 18 and 99 only apply to people who are Female, so now, this functionality will enable a user to set a question to be Hidden UNLESS a certain previous question has a specific answer. Therefore,
User can say that questions 21, 42, 63 should be Hidden UNLESS the answer to question 10 is Male
and user can say that questions 14, 18 and 99 should be Hidden UNLESS the answer to Question 10 is Female.
How to use it
Go to the survey profile page. You can get there by
From the Survey Profile Page, you can select the questions for which you want to apply the 'Hide Unless' Logic.
In the Actions menu for each Current Field, there is an option called Skip Logic: Hide Unless which is displayed for every field APART FROM the first Current Field which allows for data entry and on any Current Fields above that field.
When clicked, the Hide Unless popup for that Current Field will open.
In the popup, you can Choose a previous question which is a dropdown list on which you want to base your conditions.
In the dropdown list, you will find all of the Scale Indicator Current Fields questions that come BEFORE the Current Field in the popup (i.e. all the Current Fields which are NOT sections).
Once you have chosen a Current Field, you can choose the set of answers from the checkbox below the text: Choose the conditions.
When you have saved your choices, the conditions that were selected will be displayed below the Current Field.
