You can change the answers in a multiple choice question that has already been added to a survey.

Editing a List that has already been used (e.g. to create a story, complete a survey or create a contact) will cause data to be altered (if you change the text within an Answer Choice) and lost (if you remove an Answer Choice from the List).

You cannot directly edit the Answer Choices of a survey question that uses Shared Answer Choices.

Instead you must edit the Answer Choices of the Master Question and this will then automatically edit the Answer Choices of the questions that use Shared Answer Choices that are anchored to the Master Question

Steps

  1. Select My Apps in the top menu

  2. Select Lists

  3. You arrive in the Lists App

  4. This displays:

    1. List fields you have created from within the Lists App

    2. Every Master Question that your Multiple Choice survey questions with Shared Answer Choices are based on

    3. Every Multiple Choice survey question that you have created from scratch (i.e. not using Shared Answer Choices)

  5. Click Edit to edit the List you want to change the Answer Choices within

  6. You arrive on the Edit List page

  7. From here you can

    1. Add additional Answer Choices

    2. Reorder the Answer Choices: Note: do this by changing the priority number rather than by cutting & pasting the answers themselves

    3. Remove Answer Choices

  8. Once you are done editing, press Save

  9. That’s it.

  10. If you edited a Master Question with linked Multiple Choice Questions with Shared Answer Choices, the linked Multiple Choice Questions will automatically have their Answer Choices changed in every survey they appear in.
