Send targeted email newsletters using Mailchimp by tagging contacts

You can create and assign MailChimp Tags from within Makerble.

What are tags on MailChimp?

  • Tags are a way of classifying your subscribers on MailChimp.

  • For example, if you run a variety of events such as cooking classes and sports tournaments, you might create two tags on MailChimp called Cooking and Sports.

  • Subscribers who are interested in your cooking events would be given the Cooking tag and those who are interested in your sports events would be given the Sports tag.

  • Whenever you send out a newsletter on MailChimp you can choose which subscribers you want to send it to, based on their tags.

  • So if your newsletter this month is only focused on cookery, you'd restrict it to being sent to only the subscribers with the Cooking tag.

  • Whereas if your newsletter the following month is for a variety of events, you would add both tags to that campaign so that people who are interested in sports and also in cookery will receive that newsletter.
