Every story has a default Story Privacy Level that is based on the default Story Privacy Level of the project that the story belongs to.

Every story belongs to a project and every story is created using a Survey.
Stories are created using either the project’s default survey or a Survey that has been added to that project

Steps

Go to the Survey’s profile page
If Change update’s privacy is shown in the Questions List, it means that the option to change a story’s privacy is enabled on that survey

Stories that are created using the project’s default survey	Stories that are created using a survey that has been added to a project
Stories created using the Timeline Update on a Contact Profile Page	Survey responses by contacts who have been sent a unique survey link manually or via email
Stories created using the Timeline Update on the Homepage	Survey responses by Perspective Providers who have been sent a unique survey link manually or via email
Stories created using a Quick Update Popup from a Progress Board	Survey responses that are completed by anonymous respondents, i.e. anyone with the public survey link
	Survey responses that are entered by a colleague whilst signed-in whether that is done from the Complete Survey button on the Contact Profile Page the Complete Survey buttons on the Survey Campaign page the Complete Survey shortcut buttons on the Project page

How to enable the option to change a story’s privacy

Go to the Survey’s profile page
Press More Options
Select Edit
You arrive on the Edit Survey page
Scroll down to the Public Questions Library section on the left
The Change story privacy lozenge will be listed
Press the Add button to select it
It will appear at the bottom of the Your Survey Questions list on the right side
Use drag and drop to reorder its position in the survey as necessary
Scroll to the bottom and press Save
