Turn on referral tracking

Steps

  1. Go to your Control Panel: select More in the top menu and select Control Panel

  2. Scroll down until you see the Preferences button

  3. Tick the checkbox for recording who referred each contact to each project

  4. Press save

Set up Contact Forms, Contact Types and Projects for your referral partners

A project to store your Referral Partners

  • It is best to create a separate project for your referral partners. Click Create in the top menu and select Project. Call the project “Referral Partners” and press Save.

Distinguish between referral partner Organisations and Individuals

  • If you ordinarily distinguish between referral partners which are organisations versus the individuals that work for them, then you can create two different Contact Forms; one for Referral Partner Organisations and another for Referral Partner Individuals

  • Follow the steps to Create a Contact Form (Beneficiary Category) . Create two Contact Forms. In one of them set the Contact Type as Organisations and in the other set it as People.

  • Add both Contact Forms to your Referral Partners project using the steps outlined here Add a contact form and states to a project

Log which referral partner referred a contact

Steps

  1. Go to a Contact’s Profile page

  2. Click the arrow to expand the History section on a Contact’s Profile Page

  3. Two dropdown lists appear that allow you to record who provided the referral

  4. Type the name into the box. The platform will search for people and organisations with similar names

  5. Once you select the name, that person or organisation is saved as the Referrer of that contact into that project
