Steps

  1. Go to the Contact profile page of the contact you want to add a Relationship to

  2. Scroll down to the Relationships box on the left panel of their Contact Profile

  3. Select + Add a relationship button.

  4. If this is your first time creating a Relationship Category then

    1. The + Add a Relationship button will not be displayed.

    2. The Create a Relationship Type text will be displayed which on clicking will redirect you to the Create a Relationship Type page.

    3. The text “This prompt appears to you because you are an Organisation Admin” if you are the Admin.

    4. You can get to know more about Relationships by clicking on the text What are Relationships?

  5. Use the What type of relationship is this dropdown list to select the Relationship Category

  6. The list expands to show the Relationship Categories within your organisation - in other words, the pairs of Relationship Titles, e.g. “Brother & Sister” is a relationship category because as a pair it contains the two titles in the relationship of (A) Brother and (B) Sister.

  7. Select the Relationship Category you are interested in, e.g. Client & Assigned Therapist

  8. Makerble then asks you Who is [Contact Name] in this relationship? Select the Title which applies to the person whose Contact Profile Page you are on

  9. Makerble then prompts you to select the person who has the other title in that Relationship: select the dropdown list

  10. A search bar appears that lets you search for the other Contact or User within the Relationship

  11. Note:

    1. if your organisation has Contact records and User records for the same people, they will appear twice in this list, in both the Contacts section and the Users section.

    2. Therefore be mindful of which one you should connect to the Relationship.

    3. Ask your Organisation Admin for guidance if you are unsure.

  12. Optionally add a Start Date and/or End Date to the Relationship

  13. Press Save

Considerations

When you create a Relationship between a Contact and a User, the user receives an email notifying them that they now have a relationship with that contact

Restrictions to be aware of:

  • When creating a Relationship between a Contact and a User, the User must be in the same project as the contact, or the user must be an Organisation Admin. (How to add a user to a project)
