Safeguarding - use Makerble to record, communicate, delegate and track concerns

This article outlines how you can run your safeguarding process on Makerble in a manner which is simple, confidential and accountable.

Stage 1 - Record the safeguarding concern

  • Fill in a Safeguarding survey about the person - you can do this from their contact profile page

  • Use our template survey or create your own

  • You could create a separate Safeguarding project in which all your safeguarding records will be stored (How to create a project) and add your chosen safeguarding survey to that project (How to add a survey to a project)

Stage 2 - Address the concern

  • Automatically send an email and notification to the Designated Safeguarding Officer - you can customise the content of this message based on the details of the safeguarding concern.

    • (How to create an automation to send an alert)

  • You can automatically escalate the situation if it has not been resolved within the timeframe of your choosing. This will alert a more senior member of your staff team. (How to escalate an unresolved situation)

  • If you need to keep a timeline of what's happening regarding the safeguarding concerns, you can create a case for it. (How to create a case)

    • This gives you advanced case management options that allow you to record updates relating to the safeguarding concerns and additional actions.

    • You can save the case within a dedicated Safeguarding project in which the Story Privacy is set to Project Colleagues only or Specific individuals only (How to adjust a project's default story privacy setting)

    • This means that only designated safeguarding officers can see the details of the case and the initial safeguarding submission, even though other colleagues still have access to that contact's profile.

Stage 3 - Communicate the concern (high level, not details)

  • A flag will automatically appear on the contact’s profile to say that a safeguarding concern has been recorded for this person (How to assign a flag automatically)

  • You and your colleagues will see that flag in most places that they see that person on the platform
