Use the Contact Filters to set the criteria for an Automation

Introduction

Contact Filters now gives you a much easier way to add new criteria to your automation, making the journey more hassle-free.

How it Works

  • Contact filters allow users to define automation rules based on specific criteria. These filters provide flexibility in selecting automation conditions without requiring criteria setup.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Stage 1: Access the Create Automation Page

To create an automation with Contact Filters:

Go to the top-right corner of the screen and click on Create.

Select Automation or Automation Contacts.

Then create a new automation

OR open My Apps from the top left of your screen and access Automation

Stage 2: Select Criteria Type

Once you've opened an automation for contacts, you need to click on Contact Filters instead of the Classic Criteria.

In the Contact Filters section, select the organization where you want to run the automation.

  • If you have multiple organizations, choose the appropriate one.

  • If you only have one organization, it will be pre-selected.

  • Choose the relevant project for your automation in Automate actions within.

Stage 3: Configure Contact Filters

  • Click Select the criteria you'd like to use to Set your criteria using the Contact Filters.

  • The Contact Filters Overlay will appear.

  • Select the relevant filters to your automation, Eg:

    • Date range (e.g., last 30 days, specific months, or a rolling time frame)

    • Contact Join date

    • Added by (who added the contact)

    • Contact status (enrolled, waiting list, alumni, declined)

  • Click Apply to apply those filters to the automation.

  • When Apply is clicked:

  1. The selected filter settings are saved.

  2. The overlay closes.

  3. The selected filter settings appear in the format: Filter Name: [Selected Options].

Stage 4: Select Automation Actions

Once you have selected the criteria, you can further choose various automation actions according to your needs:

Trigger an in-app alert when the criteria are met.

Send messages to these contacts via email or SMS.

Send a survey to the contacts.

Change their project status.
