Find a contact by searching for a custom identifier which isn't their Name: e.g. serial number, ID number, internal code, etc

You can find contacts by searching for an identifier you use to identify them that isn’t their Name. E.g.

  • Serial Number

  • ID Number

  • Internal Code

  • Client ID

  • Participant ID

As an organisation you can create your own custom text fields or custom number fields that you use to identify your contacts

When you do this you can find contacts by searching for that Identifier using the Contact Filters

How to find a contact using a custom identifier

Custom Identifiers are different to the two inbuilt methods within Makerble for using something other than Name to identify a contact. The inbuilt methods in Makerble are:

If your organisation uses either of those methods to identify contacts, follow the instructions in the article for that feature.

  1. Go to the page that has Contact Filters (Contact Filters - a feature available in many places )

  2. Open the Contact Filters

  3. Press Reset to ensure that previous criteria are not being applied

  4. Scroll down to the Contact Form Fields section and open it

  5. Select the field you use to identify contacts (e.g. Serial Number)

  6. Type in the Serial Number or identifier of that contact

  7. Press Apply

  8. You will now see the contact(s) who match that identifier
