Automate recording referrals - i.e. adding a referrer automatically
Turn relationship records into referral records, using Automations on Makerble
There are three ways to record a referral on Makerble (i.e. designating one contact as being the referrer of another contact)
Manually by a colleague, once a contact is in your CRM - Record who a referral came from
Automatically while a signup page is being filled in - Create a multi-person Signup Page
Automatically, whenever particular conditions are met - using an automation as explained in this article
When you might want to use this
If you import related contacts via a spreadsheet and need to categorise one column of contacts as referrers of another column of contacts
Step by step instructions
This automation action is based on Relationships that exist between contacts.
Select Create in the top menu
Select Automation.
You arrive on the Create Automation page.
Select which project this Automation should operate across.
In the Automation Criteria section: Select the conditions that need to be met to trigger the alert - you have to select from Relationships fields.
Make sure you have created a relationship category before creating the automation.
b. Here, you will find three options, IF, IS, and THIS fill this necessary condition to create the automation.
In the Automation actions, select the tab 'Record Referral'. You can choose the relevant relationship title as the referrer from the relationship category that you created (shown with a red arrow). You also have an option to choose if there are several contacts who have a matching relationship which has 3 radio buttons (shown with a purple arrow).
Once you enter all the necessary details, press Save.
You arrive on the Manage Automations page.
