What are tags on MailChimp?
Tags are a way of classifying your subscribers on MailChimp.
For example, if you run a variety of events such as cooking classes and sports tournaments, you might create two tags on MailChimp called Cooking and Sports.
Subscribers who are interested in your cooking events would be given the Cooking tag and those who are interested in your sports events would be given the Sports tag.
Whenever you send out a newsletter on MailChimp you can choose which subscribers you want to send it to, based on their tags.
So if your newsletter this month is only focused on cookery, you'd restrict it to being sent to only the subscribers with the Cooking tag.
Whereas if your newsletter the following month is for a variety of events, you would add both tags to that campaign so that people who are interested in sports and also in cookery will receive that newsletter.
