The Send A Survey to Contact feature allows you to generate a unique personalised link for each of your contacts. When they complete the survey using that link, Makerble automatically links their response (as a story) to their Contact Profile page.
Steps
Go to the Survey Campaign page
Select Send personalised survey links via email
You arrive on the Send Survey To Contacts page
If Waves have been enabled on your Survey Campaign, you can choose which Wave to associate this sending of the survey with. This is optional. If Waves have not been enabled, you will not see the Waves dropdown list.
Set Expiry: by default the survey links generated from this page will expire once the contact has responded to the survey. However you can change the setting to “Remain active” if you want the contact to be able to post several responses to the survey over time without you needing to send them a new link
Add the survey recipients: this box lists the contacts within your project.
Anonymised: tick this box if you want the survey responses to be anonymised
Send all unique survey links manually: Select this option if you want to generate a list of Unique URLs for each Contact that you can copy & paste to send to them via your own methods.
If you select this option, the options to add an Email Message and set Reminders will disappear
Select existing contacts: If you have enabled project Waiting Lists, Alumni Lists or Declined Lists, you can filter the contacts that are displayed according to which project state they are in.
If you select a Contact who does not have an email address, you will be prompted to add one.
However if Send all survey links manually has been turned on, you will not be prompted to add an email address for contacts that do not have one already.
Once you add contacts in the Select existing contacts box, they appear within the Survey distribution list box
Add survey recipients: use this to type in Email Addresses that you want to send the survey to quickly without the need to first create Contact records for each survey recipient.
Add an additional message: By default the message that contacts receive will simply refer to their Unique Survey Link. Add an additional message that goes above this default message.
Add Reminders
you can add multiple reminder messages
choose how many days after the Original Message being sent that the reminders should be sent
Press the Add Another Reminder button to add more reminders
Press Send Surveys
If you have enabled Send all survey links manually, after pressing Send, you arrive on the Unique Survey Links page for this Survey Campaign
On this page you can copy the URL for each contact
Additional options
On Makerble you can customise how you send a Survey to a Contact.
Sending options: Email versus Manual
Visibility options: Identifiable versus Anonymised
Sending options: Email versus Manual
By default, Makerble will send the Personalised Unique Survey Links to your contacts via email.
However you can opt for these to be sent Manually. This means that you will see a table showing the name of each contact and their Personalised Unique Survey Link. You can then copy that link and send it to the contact a different way, e.g. via SMS, WhatsApp, Letter, etc.
Visibility options: Identifiable versus Anonymised
By default, Makerble will display each survey response on the Contact Profile Page of the contact who completed that survey. This is what we refer to as the responses being Identifiable
However if you want the responses to be Anonymised you can select that option. This means that although the contact will nevertheless receive a Unique Personalised Link that only they should use to complete the survey, their response will be anonymised. This means that:
the response (story) does not appear on their Contact Profile page
in the results pages, their name does not appear on mouseover (coming Q4 2021)
How to return to the Unique Survey Links page
